Established in 1972, Briar Ridge vineyard has built an enviable reputation of producing some of the Hunter Valley's most sought after wines and won numerous accolades, including Champion Small Winery of Australia in 2000. Visitors to Briar Ridge experience the tranquillity and ambience of the surrounding gardens and landscape, and can enjoy both a wine and food tasting experience with our friendly team. Our winemakers Mark Woods and Karl Stockhausen combine their talents and continue the tradition of making Briar Ridge wines with old and new techniques, and produce a range of premium wines which are made in an approachable style for all to enjoy. Mount View Estate was purchased from Harry Tulloch in 2000 by John and Polly Burgess. Their dedication to quality has seen them win numerous awards including trophies for their Shiraz, Semillon, Merlot and Chardonnay. In 2005 John and Polly purchased a second vineyard "Limestone Creek" on Mount View Road. All wines are grown, made and sold through the estate, with single vineyard wines, being kept separate. This gives our wines a sense of place; the customer knows exactly where the wine comes from and our range of wines displays true expression of Hunter Valley terrior. Nestled atop a small valley in the Mount View region, Tallavera Grove Vineyard has arguably the best cellar door view the Hunter has to offer. Initially a producer of top quality fruit for surrounding winemakers, Tallavera Grove Vineyard embarked on its own wine making journey a decade ago, and is producing award winning wines in its own right. The unique microclimate of the Mount View region combined with the talents of our winemaker Luke Watson ensures that visitors will experience the visual splendour of the vineyard whilst enjoying the tastes this vineyard has to offer.
